Anywhere Wisdom

It's become clear to me that wisdom is all around us, just waiting to be discovered. For example last night I went shopping with my friend at Winners, and near the checkouts I saw a black tote bag with a bunch of writing. Being a lover of words, I went closer to have a look at the message, and found this beautiful quote on it:

"Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer." - Ranier Maria Rilke

This is not the first time I've randomly found an inspiring message just through the routines of day to day living, and I'm sure there are many gems out there still waiting to be found. I guess it's sort of like a perpetual Easter egg hunt where the goodies are nuggets of wisdom and this world a goldmine overflowing with it.

Wonder

Friday was a day of
sensory delights.
First a spoonful of light
landed on my miso soup soon,
inviting me to play a game of catch
where the scores are known
before we even begin.

Then a delicious pink grapefruit sunset
was my dear companion
as I drove towards Brampton to visit a friend.
There in its city centre
was a pale purple moon of a clock face
illuminating the darkening skies.
It felt like my reflection,
another Bella Luna Violet.

On the way home a red light stopped my car under a train bridge
and the sound of cargo rushing past above
was a strange delight to my ears.
It felt like a heavy rainstorm though the ground was dry.
I smiled, thankful for another
wonderous day of life.

Spring

Black birds perched on
bare tree branches this afternoon,
looking forlorn.

The scent of spring rain
is in the air,
suggesting the barreness
will soon be at an end.

New beginnings and possibilities
are free for all to take.
Will you turn the page of your old story
and embrace a new adventure today?

Retreat

Secluded in a cottage
close to the lake and pine trees
is where I'd like to be
now.

Far away from the
endless chatter of a restless soul
and back into the arms of my quiet love
where I find peace.

Opening the book
to enter another story,
I shed away the stress
that's followed me.

Renewed for the journey
I begin anew,
ready to create a life of
love and light.

Blue

Blue

My love is blue,
the hue of Lake Ontario today.
His hands the wind,
running his fingers through my hair.
His voice the waves,
singing a gentle lullaby this afternoon.

The sixth day of March,
we welcome Spring's early arrival.
Winter barely visited this year,
has Mr. Frost melted in my embrace?

How else could the story end
when I'm a daughter of the fiery sun?
Like Romeo and Juliet
we were destined to be star-crossed lovers.

So I look on the lake
hugging the scene with my eyes,
while Mr. Pre Historic stands by my side,
holding my love in his bottle.
