An excerpt from Jason Mraz's blog, which I always find enlightening:
Something Interesting about July 25th.
"It is the 365th day of the 13 moon calendar, a Mayan system that measures the years in thirteen months of 28 days each: a perpetual calendar of 52 perfect weeks, with a total of 364 days. The 365th Day, the “Day Out Of Time,” is not a day of the week or a month at all, but truly a day out of time. This day of artistic celebration is an opportunity to cancel debts, to pardon and forgive, and to celebrate life, purification, community, love, and universal forgiveness of all beings." - Excerpt from my creative day planner, “Plenty of Time” by Terces Engelhart
Funny he should mention that yesterday was a Day Out of Time. I had planned to check out the Beaches Jazz Fest in Toronto with a bunch of friends on July 25th, and thought to change our plans because of the forecast for rain. The leader in our group decided we should go rain or shine... and when we met at 4pm, it was pouring rain. After dinner though the weather cleared and we had an awesome time checking out all the live acts along Queen St... and at the close of the day, I thought to myself... what a perfect day despite of the gloomy start! It really felt like a day in heaven, everyone in a good mood and enjoying the diverse selection of music for free... so maybe it was really a Day Out of Time and we should switch to the Mayan calendar so at least we'll have one day of heaven every year? I'm probably running on a different calendar all together, but that's ok. So far including yesterday I've had 3 perfect days this year... all of them spent with other friends on the journey.
1) Going to watch The Shadow and hanging out at the Distillery District.
2) Checking out the Taste of Litte Italy.
3) Enjoying the free tunes at the Beaches Street Fest on Queen Street.
3 days of heaven while on earth is pretty amazing already. But I have a feeling that there are more perfect days to come this year... which will make it my best year on earth so far! How this is possible is beyond me, I can only thank the LOVE.
